Sunday School
Children of any age
are welcome to join our Sunday School which meets during school term time.
The children leave at the beginning of the Church service and return in
time for communion or a blessing. We presently have a team of 5 adult
leaders assisted by several teenage helpers. The "Living Stones"
syllabus is used which means that the children (in Pebbles, Rocks or Boulders
groups) hear stories and often have artwork to share with the rest of
the congregation about the Bible readings which their parents have heard
in Church.
The team meet
regularly to review and plan the timetable. On a bi-annual basis, usually
summer and Christmas the children have led worship which has been much
enjoyed both by the congregation and the children. Currently we have between
8 - 10 children attending regularly and around 12 on our roll. The Sunday
School also acts as a crèche facility for a small group of younger
children. The Sunday School currently meet in the Masonic Hall, a short
walk from the church.
Safeguarding
Children and Young People in the Church
The Scottish Episcopal Church recognises the special status of children
and young people. Because of their vulnerability, children and young people
will be awarded special protection. They are respected as persons in their
own right, created and loved by God. We, therefore, commit ourselves to
take all steps within our power to keep children and young people safe
from physical, sexual and emotional harm.
The Child Protection Co-ordinator for St. Paul's is Muriel Markland, please
phone her on 01738 441798 if you have a concern about how children are
being treated.
